What is Aadhaar Card? 

   It is a 12-digit Unique number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

It is done by taking a person’s biometric details, for example, iris scan and fingerprints, and statistic information like date of birth and address.

   The initial step that a candidate should remember before applying for an Aadhaar is to have all documents required for the Aadhaar card prepared while visiting the enrollment focus.

The application procedure for Aadhaar card is the same for every single Indian citizen including minors and senior citizens.

You Can Not update Mobile Number Online. You will have to visit the Aadhar card centre ONLY to UPDATE or ADD mobile number on your Aadhar Card.

How To Apply For New Aadhar Card ?

Check Aadhaar Enrollment Status in 2019:

After the procedures at the enrollment center, applicants will get an enrollment ID which can be utilized to check the status of Aadhaar. To check the status, one can follow these steps:

  • Step 1. Go to the official website of UIDAI.
  • Step 2. Click ‘Check Aadhaar status’ and enter the enrollment number.
  • Step 3. The applicants need to Submit a security code.
  • Step 4. Tap the ‘check status’ button.
  • Step 5. The status of the applicant’s Aadhaar card will be appeared on the screen.

Get Your E-Aadhaar

When all of the documents and bio-metric information required for the Aadhaar card are submitted, it can take up to 60-90 days, i.e. around 3 months.

  • The OTP will be sent to your mobile phone in couple of minutes.
  • Use the one time password to confirm your request.
  • After the verification of OTP, you will be conveyed with your enrollment details.

 Answer: NRIs are not eligible for Aadhaar card.

They can apply for Aadhaar just when they have been residing in India for the past 182 days in 1 year.

Q.What is the difference between the Aadhar card and the e-aadhar card?

Answer: The Aadhar card means your identity in your hand. The Aadhar card will be sent by post via UIDAI. It’s called Aadhar card. E-aadhar means that you can download on UIDAI. Aadhaar is the card you get at home, and E-Aadhaar is what you download on the website.
